Big Bang band member T.O.P. temporarily left the South Korean music and entertainment industry to start his mandatory military service. However, the Kpop idol appears to have encountered some health problems that prevented him from attending an army ceremony.

T.O.P. along with several South Korean men who enlisted in the military on Feb. 9, Thursday, recently marked the end of their one-month training period. The Big Bang rapper was supposed to join fellow soldier trainees for an army training completion ceremony, however, the Kpop idol was absent from the said event.

Held on March 9, Thursday, Big Bang's T.O.P. was unable to join his fellow army batch mates given a health problem. An official from the Choongnam Nonsan Military Base told local reporters that the rapper was at the army base's infirmary during the said day, Korean news outlet Sports Donga quoted the official as saying.

However, the said official did not disclose details of T.O.P.'s sickness. Despite the Big Bang musician's absence from the said ceremony, the Kpop idol successfully completed his four-week soldier training, according to the army base official.

It is also unclear whether Big Bang band member was given the chance to spend some time with his family either during or after his stay at the infirmary. However, the Kpop idol is expected to leave the said army base to start his two-week police training in another camp.

Unlike other South Koreans, as well as celebrities and Kpop stars, T.O.P. will be spending his mandatory military service away from the battlefield. Instead of an active soldier, the Big Bang rapper will be stationed as a police officer at the Gangnam Police Station.

In other news, Big Bang is set to release a new DVD collection that contains group interviews, special messages for the fans and a look at one of the Kpop band's photoshoots. In a recent teaser clip posted on the Naver V app, as obtained by Korea Herald, band members talked about the special DVD titled "Big Bang's 2017 Welcoming Collection." The said teaser clip, as well as the upcoming DVD, will serve as the final video collection that will feature all five band members together given T.O.P.'s military enlistment.

Big Bang's new DVD collection will be released on March 29, Wednesday, in South Korea and Japan. The said collection will also come with a desk calendar, a poster calendar and a photo book.
