Moon Geun Young Gets Discharged After 4th Compartment Syndrome Surgery
Actress Moon Geun Young finally gets discharged from the hospital after undergoing a fourth surgery. The actress consulted a doctor February 1 for the severe pain on her right arm. She was then diagnosed with the acute compartment syndrome and rushed for an emergency surgery.
According to Soompi, her management label Namoo Actors announced Friday that Moon Geun Young was already allowed to be released from the hospital and that her condition "has improved greatly" following the latest compartment syndrome surgical procedure. This does not mean, however, that the 29-year-old actress will be sprinting back to work right away. Her agency added that Moon Geun Young will have to rest up and would still need to get treatment. She will return once she's in full health again.
Moon Geun Young underwent her third compartment syndrome surgery shortly after she was checked in the hospital. She was left with no choice but to bail out from the scheduled showings of her play "Romeo and Juliet" in Daegu and Andong. "Thankfully, the prognosis looks good, and as it's possible she might need another surgery, the Daegu and Andong showings of 'Romeo and Juliet' have been canceled after multiple meetings with the producers," stated Namoo Actors, according to allkpop. They apologized on the actress' behalf and asked for the fans' understanding as they canceled more of her scheduled appearances. Soompi quoted the agency as saying then, "The actress' desire to return to the stage is strong, but she is in a situation where she must stay monitored in the hospital."
The "My Little Bride" star used to be known as "Nation's Little Sister," a title passed on to the younger songstress IU. Moon Geum Young last starred on the big screen for the 2015 film "The Throne" and on the small screen for the SBS drama "The Village: Achiara's Secret" in the same year. Moon Geum Young briefly dated Kim Bum, her co-star in the 2013 series "Goddess of Fire."
