Avid Disney fans and movie fanatics have been looking forward to the upcoming release of the live-action version of the animated film "Beauty and the Beast." Recently, a promo clip unveiled the iconic musical sequence where Belle (Emma Watson) met several townspeople on her way to the bookstore.

"Beauty and the Beast" is one of the memorable animated films from Disney that introduced several well-loved tunes such as "Be My Guest," as well as its titular theme song. Released in 1991, the said movie even featured a unique re-telling of the beloved children's book tale given the talking and singing furniture and kitchen items that represented the Beast's cursed servants.

In the recently released promo clip for the live-action "Beauty and the Beast" film, fans were treated to a short glimpse of what appears to be the opening sequence that introduced viewers to Belle and the townspeople. Watson also showcased her singing talent as she and other cast members sang Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's creation "Belle."

The upcoming film marks the first time the moviegoers will hear the British actress sing on the big screens. Known for her role as Hermione in the "Harry Potter" movie franchise, Watson added her own spin to "Belle."

Watson's rendition may not be on par with the original song featured in the Disney animated film sung by Paige O'Hara, however, the "Harry Potter" actress was able to adjust her vocals to fit the classic tune. Reviews posted on Cinema Blend highlighted how Watson needed "minimal" fine tuning to make "Belle" work for her.

Meanwhile, Watson previously gushed over her Disney role and described her character as an intelligent young woman fighting to find her own place in a male-dominated world. In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress commented on how the townspeople tried to mold Belle "into a more 'acceptable' version" of a woman who simply takes care of home and kitchen duties.

The British star also shared her excitement at having landed the said Disney princess role. She stated, "If I don't do this, nothing else makes sense. [It] made me feel that I had something else to give and offer."

"Beauty and Beast" is slated to hit movie theaters on March 17. Watch a teaser clip below:
