Lee Dong Wook Regrets ‘Goblin’ Love Story With Yoo In Na
Following the successful 16-episode run of "Goblin," Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na shared their thoughts about their characters' love story in the tvN drama. Given the Grim Reaper (Lee) and Sunny's (Yoo) tragic past, the "My Girl" actor expressed some of his regrets on how drama couple's romance was depicted in the series.
Lee's portrayal of the imposing yet comedic Grim Reaper in the fantasy drama "Goblin" captured the hearts of Kdrama lovers and avid fans. With the said immortal being sharing a sad fate with Yoo's Sunny, many viewers were heartbroken at how the two characters' love story was depicted in the tvN production.
In the recent "Goblin" special that aired on Feb. 4, Saturday, Lee admitted that he would have wanted to show a sweet romance between the Grim Reaper and Sunny. Despite the two characters' tragic past, the actor shared that he still wonders whether the viewers would have enjoyed seeing more "cute and lovey-dovey" interactions between the said couple, Soompi reported.
Yoo also agreed with Lee's assessment and commented on how the two characters lacked the usual romantic dating process seen in other TV dramas. However, Lee highlighted how the viewers still supported the said "Goblin" couple even if their love story was marked with many sad moments.
Meanwhile, the two South Korean celebrities, including their co-stars Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun and Sungjae will not join the tvN production's Phuket reward trip on Feb. 6, according to All Kpop. Initial plans for the said the five cast members to participate in the said vacation fell through given their respective busy schedules.
Lee's agency shared that they were unable to reschedule some of the actor's appointments following the increased demand for interviews and other activities. Yoo's agency also made a similar announcement and explained how the actress has a tight calendar given the backlog of earlier promised appointments.
