G-Dragon Parodies Gong Yoo’s ‘Goblin’ In Search For A Bride
tvN's hit fantasy series "Goblin" already ended its 16-episode run but the drama's popularity continued to soar with fans and even a few South Korean celebrities mimicking Gong Yoo's iconic character Shin. Recently, Big Bang leader G-Dragon emulated the titular immortal in a cute yet romantic social media update.
G-Dragon took to Instagram to reveal a photo of himself in a similar pose as Gong's immortal character in the tvN drama "Goblin." Posted on Feb. 5, Sunday, the Big Bang leader had a toy sword pressed underneath his armpit with the tip of the blade seemingly protruding from his back.
The South Korean musician and fashionista were also photographed slightly hunched over as his right hand held the sword's hilt. Paying homage to the hit tvN drama, G-Dragon's Instagram message conveyed Shin's search for his destined goblin bride to remove the sword from his chest that will also lead to the said character's death, Soompi reported. The Big Bang leader wrote, "Somebody gets my sword...please be my bride."
Many of G-Dragon's Instagram followers replied to the rapper's request and volunteered themselves to be his goblin bride. Some fans also commented that they would rather summon him than pull the sword out.
A fan even quoted one of Shin's memorable lines in the tvN drama specifically, "Every moment I spent with you shined." Meanwhile, other Instagram users declined to remove the sword since it would lead to G-Dragon's fictional disappearance given the "Goblin" myth surrounding the said blade.
In other news, G-Dragon was recently involved in a dating controversy with former KARA group member Hara. The two South Korean singers were photographed enjoying a night out in a local amusement park with their friends.
The amusement park outing sparked romance speculations between Hara and G-Dragon, however, the songstress' agency denied the dating rumor, All Kpop reported. KeyEast explained that the two musicians are just friends and even labeled the said rumor as ridiculous.
"Goblin" recently aired two special episodes that contained never-before-seen footage form the tvN drama, cast commentaries and blooper scenes.
