Samsung Reveals Curved OLED TV

The field of television has undergone major changes over the past year thanks to the standardization of 4K and the growing presence of the HDR which offers much better lighting and color, reaching 10 bits deep (one billion colors). One of the champions of the current television technology of OLED is the Korean brand, Samsung.

Specifically, Samsung has stated that it will launch its first QLED TVs sometime between the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second, which would put the beginning of its sale around the month of April. There will be three series of models that are available: Q7, Q8 (curved) and Q9 (flat). The price of one QLED TV Samsung 49 - inch will be around 3,000 euros, while the largest high - end (88 inches, for example) higher prices will reach 15,000 euros.

TVs were initially presented on 4 January at CES 2017 Las Vegas, where our fellow Topes de Gama was testing the new Samsung QLED. These generated a great expectation thanks to the fact that televisions include Quantum Dot technology in LED panels, with which Samsung proposes to remain a leader in the television market, as it has been for 11 years.

The QLED technology enables these televisions to be the best on the market when it comes to color reproduction, reaching 100% of the DCI-P3 spectrum. In this capacity, color reproduction is joined by the possibility that the display range between 1,500 and 2,000 nits brightness, giving volume and greater naturalness to the image. In addition, they have halved the reflections of the screens and have reduced the distortion by a third from any angle of view, further improving the image quality.

Televisions QLED offer a variety of advantages over the OLED, and not using organic compounds as plasmas or OLED, so that no wear or rust pixels staying marked on them if held for a long time an image On screen (a phenomenon known as screen burn-in). In addition, they consume less energy (they have energy rating A, compared to the B of OLED televisions of other brands)
