Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo Season 2 To Happen After The Success Of Online Petition? Lee Ji Eun Posts Teasers?
It has just been days since the last episode of "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" has aired but fans are hoping that a season 2 will soon follow. Although no confirmation yet has been announced, fans are speculating that season 2 is already on its way as actress Lee Ji Eun teases fans with a photo.
In the Instagram post of the actress, Lee Ji Eun is seen crying while a man offers his handkerchief. The photo is taken from a TV screen which is why fans believe they could already be shooting season 2 or at least its upcoming trailer. The photo was captioned with "Huh? Handkerchief..?" that was followed by emoji of a heart and moon which possibly signifies the title of the series "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo"
Recently, an online petition has been launched by the series' fans asking for a season 2. The petition indicates it needs a total of 35,000 signatures but it looks like it's not going to be hard reaching that. Reports last week claim that the signatures have already reached more than 80% and counting. It wouldn't be surprising if the signatures have now been completed and have already been submitted to the network's executives. If this has happened, the photos of Lee Ji Eun could really be a teaser for the series' season 2.
"Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" stars Lee Joon-gi, Lee Ji-eun, Kang Ha-neul and Hong Jong-hyun. It first aired on August 29, 2016, and ended on November 1, 2016. Despite the worldwide popularity the series has gained, it seems that the series did not do well in its ratings in South Korea. In addition, the series also received negative comments regarding its directing and the acting of the cast. The show only gained 7.59% audience rating from its $13 million production budget.
