‘Killjoys’ S2 Finale Spoilers: Dealing With Post-Pawter Depression And The Truth Of Aneela

The second season of the Syfy speculative fictions series "Killjoys" is about to come to it its conclusion; with the team still reeling from losing Pawter, how will they deal with confronting Khlyen and finding the truth of Dutch and her connection to his daughter Aneela?

In the last episode 9, "Johnny be Good," the main team finally got back to working together in their efforts to free Old Town. Johnny's (Aaron Ashmore) and Pawter's (Sarah Power) quest to find out exactly what is happening in the grand conspiracy behind the Wall that was built to contain Old Town came to a head, with Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen) and D'avin (Luke Marfarlane) helping them in assaulting the Spring Hill facility to bring down the Wall.

Unfortunately, turning off the Wall proved far too problematic which left Pawter with no choice but to rile up the inhabitants of Old Town into a suicidal frenzy enough to throw themselves at the Wall in order to overload it. Using the piles of dead bodies from this act, Pawter exposed the Company's conspiracy and started a chain of revolt across Westerley that forced the higher powers to back down.

Even more unfortunate, Delle Seyah Kendry's (Mayko Nguyen) offer of Westerley independence from the Company turned out to be false and she murdered Pawter and the rest of the Old Town representatives during the meeting to sign and finalized the deal.

At the end of the episode; the team lost an important friend, discovered that the Scarbacks have already been infiltrated by the immortal Level 6 program, and have come face to face with Fancy Lee (Sean Baek) who came bearing a message from Khlyen (Rob Stewart).

According to the preview for the finale episode, titled "How to Kill Friends and Influence People," Dutch will speak with Khlyen who will possibly tell her the truth of "how it all began" and possibly even reveal the truth of his daughter Aneela, whom Dutch believes is next on Khlyen's kill targets for her despite Aneela being his daughter.

A longer sneak peek teaser released by Syfy showed that, in their efforts to finally close in on the truth of what is going in with the Level 6 program and Khlyen's aims, the team will still have to deal with Pawter's passing. Johnny, hit hardest by the loss due to his romance with her, will also have to deal with the fact that Delle Seyah is using Pawter's death as propaganda to keep the miners on Westerley in line, effectively undoing all of Pawter's efforts to free them which eventually led to her death.

All in all, the season 2 finale of "Killjoys" is shaping up to be a major rollercoaster ride through emotions and revelations.
