Many have long discussed just what is the identity of the person Negan brutalized to death in the months since "The Walking Dead" season 6 ended last April; now, with season 7's October premiere inching ever loser, some may have finally pieced together the truth based on real life clues.

The sixth season of AMC's live action adaptation of Robert Kirkman's chilling zombie apocalypse graphic novel "The Walking Dead" ended months ago, and fans have been aching for answers after the season's highly controversial cliffhanger ending. The final episode of the season ended with the introduction of Negan, one of the most notorious villains in the source material and played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who then promptly introduced his barbed baseball bat Lucille to the face of one of the cast. Repeatedly.

In the comics, this unfortunate character was Glen Rhee, played by Steven Yeun in the series. The fact that "The Walking Dead" series has repeatedly altered elements and events from its source material to drastic levels has cast doubt on this prospect being repeated. However, some believe that the show will actually manage to both keep the plotline loyal to the source material, while at the same time including a major change.

This is because Negan is heavily rumored to kill not one, but two characters in the season 7 premiere; namely, Glenn and Michael Cudlitz' Abraham Ford. The flow events is believe to be that Negan will beat one of the characters with the bat, as shown in the season 6' finale, and then kill the other one in some other way for some reason.

Within the show's environment, those two characters being the victims are supported by claims that the actors have not been spotted during production outside of the first episode. Furthermore, Steven Yeun was recently announced to be cast in the Korean thriller film "Okja;" meaning that his schedule has been freed up to take projects outside of "The Walking Dead."

An interesting case has also cropped up about the possible fate of fan-favorite Daryl Dixson, played by Norman Reedus. Earlier this month, a video sneak peek cropped up showing Austin Amelio's character Dwight riding encountering the zombie-infested underside of a bridge. The fact that Dwight was not only riding Daryl's motorcycle, he was also wearing that iconic wings-printed leather jacket, signified some grave things for everyone's favorite redneck.

Because of the above, many believed Daryl was the one to meet his gruesome end at the end of Lucille's spiky end. However, the character's sheer popularity and photos of Reedus hanging around on the show's production set as well as with other characters alleviated this concern. Though none of those explain how Dwight got his burned face on Daryl's iconic gear.

A likely explanation is that Daryl, with his occasionally reckless nature, could not help but interfere in Negan's brutalization of his friend(s) and jumped in. With the Savior leader about to kill him, Dwight then stepped in to plead for Daryl to be spared. Considering the history between the two characters however, this action will not be done out of kindness; instead, Dwight stepped in to ask Negan if he could keep Daryl alive so that Dwight himself could make his hated enemy suffer. Said suffering probably involving, and beginning with, taking Daryl's stuff.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 returns on Oct. 23 on AMC.
