‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Spoilers: Casting Character Descriptions Released
With the next and seventh season of "Game of Thrones," HBO's hit live action television adaptation of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series, set to be the show's finale, fans are set itching to find out what will happen with a recently released list of casting call character descriptions providing some hits into the upcoming new season.
Prominent "Game of Thrones" community website Watchers on the Wall released the character descriptions, as reported by IGN, to allow fans to read up on some of the coming new characters to the series. Though the roles for which the character descriptions were written will likely not feature in prominent capacity, some of the descriptions indicate that they may be present in a few pivotal moments in the final season of "Game of Thrones."
The character descriptions only include generic titles for the roles, with the characters being called something along the lines of simply "General," or "Priest," or "Warrior."
The General and Priest roles are set for older actors, at ages 40-55 and 60+ years old respectively. The General role is described as a "senior military officer," with applicants being required to be a Caucasian and able to speak in the British received pronunciation (RP) accent. The Priest requires similar requirements, with the addition of having a "characterful face."
The Warrior role is looking for someone capable of projecting a physically imposing presence, with actors required to be about middle-aged. The role will reportedly have a "considerable" amount of speaking parts, and is an "excellent part for a top-end actor." The role is required for a recurring schedule throughout October.
The next two roles are for a City Guard and Gate Guard, with the age requirement being someone in their 30's and 20's respectively. The City guard requires someone with an RP accent, and might be a character of importance as he is reportedly a "Guard who intercepts a suspicious-looking person on his nightly patrol." By comparison, the younger Gate Guard appear in a greater number of scenes and is described as "confident" and "characterful."
The next role is for a Merchant of some sort; though unlike the previous ones where specific ethnicities were present, the only real restriction for the character is someone in his 40's. The description suggests the role might feature in a scene set in Essos, or maybe even in a completely new location altogether.
The next roles are for a Lovely Lady, Young Lord, and Lieutenant. As is wont for "Game of Thrones," full nudity is a requirement for the Lovely Lady role though the description also states that it is a good speaking part" and requires actresses to be able to project themselves well.
The Young Lord role is another one that requires a Caucasian sporting an RP accent, with the age requirement being someone who looks 20-something. The Lieutenant is stated to be around the same age, though the ethnicity requirement is different as the character description mentions Middle Eastern descent.
All in all, the character descriptions suggest that this climactic season of "Game of Thrones" will have a lot running for itself for fans to enjoy.
