The allure of musicals, it seems, has not been lost to the people running The CW as the producers of Warner Bros.' television projects have deemed it fit to schedule another crossover event between "The Flash" and the newly acquired "Supergirl," though this time with a lot more music.

During the press tour the Television Critics Association held Thursday, Aug. 11, "Arrowverse" executive producer Greg Berlanti told reporters that the higher ups at The CW have given the go ahead for another crossover event between the Scarlet Speedster and the last daughter of Krypton.

"The Flash" and "Supergirl," during the latter's first season run at CBS, previously had a crossover episode where Grant Gustin's Flash ended up crossing dimensional boundaries and ended up in another universe, the universe that Melissa Benoist inhabits as Supergirl in her own show to be exact.

For season 3 of "The Flash" and season 2 of "Supergirl," with the latter now moving to The CW and set to be part of the "Flarrow/Berlanti-verse" group of DC Comics-based television adaptations, the two shows will once again meet although with the added twist that the crossover event will also consist of musical episodes.

According to Berlanti, the episodes are expected sometime in "the back half of the year between 'Supergirl' and 'Flash.'" Majority of the music will apparently be of preexisting songs, although reports indicate that there are plans to have at least one original song per episode.

"We haven't planned it all out yet," Berlanti told those present at the tour. "I'm sure the studio's going to be like, 'How are we going to pay for it?' but that would be my hope. Victor [Garber] was pitching me some songs the other night at dinner."

As for those who will have a chance to show off in the crossover, both Gustin and Benoist have experience in singing in addition to previous appearance on the musical series "Glee." Other cast members with singing chops include Jesse L. Martin, who plays Joe West and also famously played Tom Collins in both the original Broadway and 2005 film versions of "Rent;" Jeremy Jordan, who plays Winn "Toyman Jr." Schott and played Jack Kelly in the 2012 musical "Newsies;" and Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Ramon and has recently released a series of musical works under the stage name Tha Los.

Both Victor Garber and Tom Cavanagh, Harrison Wells and Martin Stien/Firestorm respectively, also have prior experience in singing. Meanwhile Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin Snow, reportedly wishes to excuse herself from the crossover after already exercising her singing "talent" back in the first season.

Season 3 of "The Flash" and season 2 of "Supergirl" will return in October.
