Rihanna And Kanye Drop Tracks; Is Frank Ocean’s Awaited Album ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ Next?
It seems the wait isn't over for Frank Ocean fans as the enigmatic singer still has not announce the release date for his much-anticipated album, said to be titled "Boys Don't Cry."
While his fellow music artists, such as Adele for instance, have appealed to the Grammy winner to release his next album, the silence of Frank Ocean is deafening.
Rihanna and Kanye West, for instance, have already dropped their new albums but the 28-year-old singer is nowhere to be found.
On Jan. 25, Rihanna tweeted about her new album "Anti" as she said, "Listening to Anti."
On the same day, Kanye West took to Twitter and shared his happiness on the completion of "Swish." Never bashful, the rapper said, "So happy to be finished with the best album of all time."
Billboard actually included Frank Ocean's new album, "Boys Don't Cry," in its list of most anticipated albums for 2016.
"Right up there with Kanye's Swish on the list of disappointing 2015 no-shows was Boys Don't Cry, an album that's been in the works since early 2013," it said. "In April 2015, Ocean announced plans for a July release, but five months later, the taboo-busting R&B sensation has yet to drop the follow-up to his brilliant 2012 debut, Channel Orange."
But here are some positive signs. Ed Banger Records' Pedro Winter has said in previous interview, via MusicTimes, that Sebastian "just finished the production for a few pieces for Frank Ocean - a very exciting collaboration and then he can turn to his second album."
Then there's the fact that Kanye West collaborated with Frank Ocean for the new version of "Wolves," which fans took to mean that the singer is not in total hiatus.
Fans remain hopeful, however, that 2016 would be the year that Frank Ocean would release his new album, "Boys Don't Cry."
