Microsoft To Release Surface Phone Soon; Windows 10 Mobile OS Updates Revealed

With the stiff competition of different smartphones nowadays, Microsoft still wants to keep up and to develop the first Surface phone. But one thing is for sure, Microsoft is due to release its updates on Windows 10 Operating System.

Speculations of Microsoft Windows Surface phone started when a web address surfacephone.com directs to the technology firms's Surface website. Rumors claimed that the said Surface phone is a new flagship mobile build from the same Microsoft company. In addition, a report from a blog claimed that Microsoft is already on its way of revealing the Surface phone in late 2016 or early of 2017.

However, it was then denied by Microsoft during the Mobile World Congress, saying people should not expect news about the much-rumored Surface phone.

"Microsoft has nothing to share on rumored devices, will be showing even more innovation at upcoming Microsoft events," a Microsoft spokesperson shared via email in a report.

Some analysts who follow Microsoft and the rumored Surface phone have expressed their ideas and expectations.

"I am expecting the Surface Phone by the end of this year or the beginning of next year,Microsoft won't launch anything until it's truly breakthrough. In the meantime, Microsoft will continue making phones like the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL that launched last fall and were not considered premium-quality phones," said Patrick Moorhead, an analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy said.

Jack Narcotta, an analyst from TBRI, said that while the rumored Surface phone has not been officially released or confirmed at least, it does make sense for Microsoft to build it and the phone could clearly serve the needs of business individuals same as BlackBerry.

"Windows Phone as a BlackBerry killer or as the new work-issued mobile device - that's where things get interesting for Microsoft," he said.

However, even Surface phone is not yet out and about, Microsoft phone users can shout for joy as they will soon release Windows 10 OS update.

According to a report, Microsoft is set to reveal the latest version with major changes and new updates like Forced HDR, fixing Skype Bugs, and having Cortana, the latest and intelligent personal assistant created by Microsoft for Windows phone.

Though Microsoft is still vying for its position in the market, with the rumored Surface phone, the company still can't be considered leading as there are more smartphone manufacturers like Apple and Samsung who took the lead. Now, at least, it does concentrate on improving its Lumia series phones by updating Windows 10 OS.
