'Deadpool' Movie Actor Ryan Reynolds Talks On R-Rating And Leaked Footage, Reveals Hero's Secret Power
Actor Ryan Reynolds expressed his thoughts on the "Deadpool" movie rating as well as on the leaked test footage, Games Radar reports.
One of the most-anticipated films for 2016, the upcoming "Deadpool" movie was announced in May 2000 by Artisan Entertainment along with Marvel. New Line Cinema attempted to work on the production in February 2004, however it was halted as director August Goyer went on to work with other projects. 20th Century Fox took over the project and now, the film is in post-production stage.
The "Mississippi Grind" star explains regarding the leaked test footage, "There's been a lot of talk about how I was instrumental in getting it made, which isn't true at all. I wouldn't say I spent every single day emailing the studio heads at Fox saying, 'You've got to make this movie.'"
"The fans are the ones that saw that leaked test footage - which really was never meant for anyone besides in-house studio people. That's really what got it made. But what I'm most proud of is we got to make the movie in the way it should have been made, which is rated R at a very modest budget."
Reynolds also revealed the hero's greatest superpower. When he was asked if he felt intimidated with other upcoming hero films alongside "Deadpool" movie, the actor responded, "Deadpool's greatest superpower is annoying the s--- out of people, so I imagine that he would spark a heavy wave of ire from any one of those groups," according to Den of Geek.
Reynolds, 38, started his acting career in 1990, starring as Billy Simpsion in teen soap "Hillside" which was distributed in US by Nickelodeon as "Fifteen." He is known for his acting roles in "Blade: Trinity," "The Proposal," and as Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."
"Deadpool" movie is slated to release on February 12, 2016. It is directed by Tim Miller.
