'Cloverfield 2' Trailer, Spoilers: '10 Cloverfield Lane' Reveals JJ Abrams Well-Kept Secret?

Due to several “Cloverfield 2” trailers being released and circulated around the Internet, it is only a natural reaction that netizens will get excited. After all, it is almost a decade since the first “Cloverfield” movie was shown in 2008. Also, the sequel is rumored to show the creator’s best-kept secret.

Hit Flix reported that the creator of the film, JJ Abrams, was able to show a sneak peek of the rumored sequel before the premiere showing of Michael Bay’s film “13 Hours.” Apparently, the short trailer was shot even before the actual production and filming of the sequel began. This was reportedly Abrams' plan the whole time.

It was also reported that Abrams kept the entire movie under wraps by making it appear as a different movie titled “Valencia,” Wired UK wrote. As it turns out, the Dan Trachtenberg directed short trailer was “Cloverfield 2” in disguise and he has been working with Abrams and Bad Robot.

Besides the seemingly disturbing trailer, Den of Geek reported that there were also several other “Cloverfield 2” ads released. It was reported that there was a trailer released during the Super Bowl spot and “The Walking Dead” TV spot. With these trailers, reports stated it gave the film additional exposure and drew the right amount of interest.

JJ Abrams reportedly shared that the sequel came to him many years back, Collider wrote. Abrams said he wanted the new film to be related to the first film thus many ideas were developed. The creator also reportedly said that as they wanted to keep the title a secret, they made up the post-production trailers.

“Cloverfield 2” cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman. The film will debut on March 11.
