‘Wayward Pines’ Season 2 Spoilers: First Gen Brats Not As Many? More Cast Members Revealed
Veteran actors have joined season 2 of "Wayward Pines," according to the latest spoilers.
Variety reported that Jason Patric was added to the cast as Dr. Theo Yedlin, "a confident, driven surgeon whose leadership skills will prove invaluable to the residents of Wayward Pines."
M. Night Shyamalan told the publication that Patric is perfect for the role because he is "an incredibly grounded and believable actor."
"I'm so excited for audiences to see what he brings to the world of 'Wayward Pines,'" he added.
In other "Wayward Pines" season 2 spoilers, Deadline reported that Djimon Hounsou ("Blood Diamonds") will also join Patric along with Kacey Rohl ("Hannibal") and Nimrat Kaur ("Homeland") in the series.
"Rohl will play Kerry Campbell, described as a tough and unflappable part of the new Wayward Pines brain trust. Kaur will play Rebecca, Theo's wife, a successful architect," it said.
Matt Webb Mitovich of TVLine said that the presence of the veteran actors mean that the series won't be "overpopulated by First Generation brats."
"Season 2 of Fox's adaptation of the Blake Crouch novels will pick up where Season 1 left off, when a new arrival in the titular Idaho town finds himself in the middle of a serious rebellion, as the residents, led by the First Generation, battle over how to preserve the endangered human race," he wrote.
Patric apparently is on suspended animation for a long time and wakes up only to find out the chaos that he's living in. His character will try to discover the mysteries surrounding Wayward Pines if humanity has any chance of surviving.
Housou will play CJ Mitchum, "a philosophical town historian who will make a decision that impacts the fate of Wayward Pines and its denizens."
