'Fast and Furious 8' Plot Rumors, Cast, Updates: Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw Joins Dominic's Crew To Fight Charlize Theron's All-Female Villain Group?

“Fast and Furious 8” is one of the most anticipated films to be shown next year, and while Vin Diesel may be the main character, a highly unlikely protagonist is rumored to join Dominic Torrento’s crew.

Day Herald wrote that Deckard Shaw, the villain played by Jason Statham in “Furious 7,” will be back for the eighth installment of the franchise and will be switching sides. Apparently, this report is in contradiction with the rumored addition of “Red” star Helen Mirren. Initially, it was rumored that Mirren will help Shaw escape from prison of which the two will form their own crew to apparently stop Dominic and his gang.

Making the Deckard Shaw plot even plausible is the latest report wherein “Fast and Furious 8” director F. Gary Gray has his eyes on “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Charlize Theron to play a fierce female villain, Deadline reported.

With the possibility of Theron and even Mirren playing the antagonist of the film, it may apparently be an all-female villain group that Torrento and his crew could face.

Enstarz wrote that the film may even turn a full 360 and become more feminist. With Michelle Rodriguez reportedly coming back to reprise her role as Letty Ortiz and rumors circulating that even Eva Mendes and Ronda Rousey are being tapped to join, this could be a possibility.

Of course, Rodriguez did not want the movie to be labeled as such, Metro reported. The Latina actress reportedly suggested that the approach should be more holistic, like what “Mad Max: Fury Road” did.

"If I were ever to do it, I think you have to be all encompassing. You have to think holistically and look for the broader audiences. And I don't like hating on guys to make women powerful," Rodriguez said.

“Fast and Furious 8” will be released in theaters on April 15, 2017.
