One Direction's 'Best Song Ever' Isn't Enough To Beat Zayn Malik's 'Pillowtalk'

iHeartRadio Music Awards 2017: Fifth Harmony Was The Real Winner; Not Zayn Malik!

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik will be releasing his new album entitled "Mind Of Mine." The 23-year-old singer has recently launched "Pillowtalk" last Friday, January 29.

Malik left One Direction last year and fans of the famous boy band went wild over the news that he was leaving the group to start his solo career. His name was all over the news as people were wondering as to when he will release his new album.

On January 29, Malik has launched his newest song called "Pillowtalk" where his girlfriend Gigi Hadid starred as his leading lady in the latest music video. His debut single has beaten One Direction's "Best Song Ever" which has reached number two back in 2013.

Rumors have been making rounds that Malik targeted the anniversary date of his former band.

"Zayn is the master of marketing, he was well aware of the date and wanted to make a statement," an insider told Hollywood Life.

Inquisitr recently reported that Malik felt that he could not experiment and be creative with his music if he chose to stay in One Direction.

"There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic... so they could use that version," the English singer said, Inquisitr quoted. "Whenever I would suggest something, it was like it didn't fit us."

According to new reports, Malik's new music album will be sexually explicit and mature when it comes to lyrics. Malik is reportedly targeting adult listeners and not just teenage girls.

Malik is reportedly happy now that he is behind his music.

"There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn't convinced with what we were selling," Malik said, Inquisitr quoted. "I wasn't 100 percent behind the music. It wasn't me. It was music that was already given to us, and we were told this is what is going to sell to these people. As much as we were the biggest, most famous boy band in the world, it felt weird. We were told to be happy about something that we weren't happy about."

Zayn Malik's new album will be released in March 25.
