Tim Burton To Announce ‘Beetlejuice 2’ Movie Release Date Soon? Script In The Works
Fans have had their fingers crossed for a long time as the rumor mills have churned out an array of speculations regarding the filming of a "Beetlejuice 2" movie, its release date and confirmations coming from the acclaimed filmmaker Tim Burton.
However, there may still be a glimpse of hope despite the nay-sayers purporting that the film will never see the light of day as more reports surface from around the web that Tim Burton is currently working on the script.
In a recent interview with highly renowned filmmaker regarding his film "Big Eyes," Tim Burton told reporters that he was working on a script for a "Beetlejuice 2" movie and that it might be close to being finished.
"It's a character that I love and I miss and I miss actually working with Michael," Tim Burton explained in an interview as reported by Coming Soon. "There's only one Betelgeuse. We're working on a script and I think it's probably closer than ever and I'd love to work with him again."
As to rumors about a release date for "Beetlejuice 2" being set in stone, there hasn't been any official announcement as of yet from Tim Burton nor from anyone closely involved in the project.
Despite that, it was noted that Tim Burton and Michael Keaton met up in the past year to talk about the possibility of having a "Beetlejuice 2," Cinema Blend reported.
The source went on to detail about how Michael Keaton was still interested in the idea of being involved with Tim Burton on a "Beetlejuice 2" movie.
"I've been talking about it for years and saying it's the one thing - if I ever did anything again, it would be that, or I'd want to do that..." the actor said in an interview with The Today Show. "The rumors would - they've risen before and fallen away - and now if Tim Burton is involved, and I think he might be involved, I would be more than interested."
