'Gears Of War 4' News: Release Date Still Unconfirmed, New Gameplay Features Expected

One of the most highly anticipated triple-A title expected to be released this year is "Gears of War 4." While its release date is expected to be some time in the fourth quarter of the year, devoted gamers are already anxious to get their hands into the upcoming sequel of this highly successful franchise.

But Microsoft provided some in-depth detail on "Gears of War 4" saying that the upcoming sequel will not feature the game's protagonist, Marcus Fenix. Instead, two new characters were introduced - Kait and JD.

In a recent interview with IGN, The Coalition studio chief Rod Fergusson said, "We're going back to something personal, intimate, dark, and mysterious, being afraid of the boogeyman."

If rumors are true, the game will have an open-world treatment, something that is getting increasingly common in the video game industry. Graphics are also significantly upgraded, thanks to the powerful hardware provided by the Xbox One console.

Some rumors are also claiming that the game will introduce a new type of gameplay. Whatever this gameplay mechanics is, no one knows for certain as it was not presented on the game's official trailer.

Another disappointing fact about the upcoming "Gears of War 4" game is its exclusivity to the Xbox One console. This means that Xbox 360 owners will not be able to play this game, not unless Microsoft will introduce backwards compatibility as soon as it is released.
