Would there be a bigger possibility for a "Terminator: Genisys" sequel should it be reverted to James Cameron?

While it is no secret to its fans that the movie did not score well in the box office when it was shown last year, a lot appeared to still have some hopes that a second instalment will be released after a while.

In his opinion, Mark Hughes of Forbes revealed that having James Cameron to reassume it could be an option.

He pointed out that "if they keep the property but do nothing with it, just sitting on it until eventually it reverts to James Cameron (I've not looked at the details so I don't know if or when that would come about, though) - but that would be a bizarre choice and it's unlikely they'd go that route."

The writer further explained in his views about the possibility of a "Terminator: Genisys" sequel by saying, "So this would only happen if the studio tried to get another film into development but couldn't make the deadline, and so decided that rather than sell it to a competing studio they let it default back to Cameron, under the assumption he wouldn't make any sequels himself for quite a long while, if ever."

In the meantime, the Deadline reported that the supposed release date of "Terminator: Genisys" sequel will already be the premiere of "Baywatch."

Does it mean that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's upcoming movie has somehow defeated Arnold Schwarzenegger's film?

However, the outlet pointed out that "This is not exactly a huge surprise" considering that "Terminator: Genisys" only "topped out at less than $90M domestically."

"The studio had no further comment on the move," the report said. "It looks like the grand plans to conclude the story line hatched by James Cameron won't likely happen before certain rights revert back to Cameron."

Do you think a "Terminator: Genisys" sequel is still possible? Are you excited for The Rock's "Baywatch" movie?
