‘Game Of Thrones’ Actress Maisie Williams Optimistic About ‘Last Of Us’ Movie Despite Its Slow Development
It has already been a year since the first news about a "Last of Us" movie surfaced around the internet and fans are still waiting for any new updates regarding the film's development.
Despite, the slow progress of the iconic video game "Last of Us" hitting the big screen, "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams is still rather optimistic about the film happening.
In an interview the "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams, who played one of the surviving Starks in the TV series, explained how she was excited about the idea of working in a film adaptation of "Last of Us."
"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," the actress said in an interview with Screen Rant. "There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to."
According to Cinema Blend, although fans haven't heard of any major announcements regarding the film's progress as of late, they were previously assured by one of the game's developer Neil Druckmann that the "Last of Us" movie will remain faithful to the video game.
"Pretty faithful to the game," Neil Druckmann said in an interview. "There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story's trying to say is pretty faithful to the game."
Moreover, it was stated by Latino Post that Druckmann has already completed a second draft for the film and that they have already done a table read with a bunch of actors and that is where they are currently at.
As such, fans can't help but speculate as to whether "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams is the front-runner to play the role of Ellie in the movie adaptation of the titular "Last of Us."
