According to Vine Report. Gen Fukunaga, President of FUNimation, confirmed that season 3 of "Tokyo Ghoul" anime series is in the development phase and that the release date for the anime will be announced soon.

"With season 2 now finished and season 3 set for 2016, the anticipation for the game has only grown higher," Fukunaga claimed.

Meanwhile, the spoilers for the upcoming season 3 of the anime series tease the death of two lead characters, Kaneki and Hideyoshi, Reddit forum claimed.

Further, the spoilers for the upcoming season 3 suggest that Kirishima will be showcased in a very crucial role as Ken's training partner in the anime series.

It is also rumored that the season 3 will focus mostly on Kirishima and his adventures.

Also, the spoilers for season 3 of the "Tokyo Ghoul" anime tease the possibility that Haise Sasaki will be showcased with excellent warrior skills.

In line with the release date news, meanwhile, Crossmap reported that the disappointed fans of the anime series recently launched a petition to urge "Tokyo Ghoul" creators to come up with a reboot for the series rather than a new season.

"We have a manga that is on par with 'Death Note' when it comes to its complexity and psychological theme and Studio Pierrot butchered the plot and also ruined the characters with their development," read the reboot petition as reported by International Business Times.
