There have been previous reports about the Red Hot Chili Peppers recording songs for an upcoming new album.

However, the latest news about the band's progress may have fans raving about it as it seems that the they wrote more songs with their latest collaboration with producer Danger Mouse.

In an interview on "Jonesy's Jukebox," a radio program that's hosted by Sex Pistol's member Steve Jones, Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis shared their experience collaborating with Brian Burton, who is also known as Danger Mouse, Alternative Nation reported.

"We had written two dozen songs before we got with him," Kiedis stated. "Producer Danger Mouse is like, 'Let's keep a few of those, but let's go write all new songs in the studio."

"We're looking at each other like, 'Dude, we kind of already wrote the songs, bro.' He's like, 'No, I like to write new ones in the studio.' So, in honor of accommodating this new process, we wrote all new songs, and it's a good thing we did."

The source also noted that the band is almost finished with their new album.

"We're in the home stretch," the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman said. "I sang yesterday, I get a week off, I go back to finish."

It was also reported by  NME that the band will be going back to the studio this month of February to assess the newly written songs.

"We're going to back and listen to the songs, and see if we can beat them," KiedisAnthony explained.

Fans can expect great things about the band's collaboration with the renowned producer as Anthony Kiedis elaborated how beautiful it was working with Danger Mouse.

"He's very good about coming up with super-modern ideas, but he'll also touch on the acoustic guitar in the control room and strip the song down to its acoustic essentials, which is a beautiful place to be," the frontman said as reported by Loudwire.
