‘Pokémon GO’ Update: Fans Debate On ‘GO’s’ Real Meaning? Game Gears Up for 2016 Release Date?
As "Pokémon GO" fans await for any new update on the game's official release date, the gaming community is busy guessing what could the "GO" in the game's title really mean.
PokéJungle.net however theorizes that "GO" could actually mean "Generation One."
"The PokéJungle staff and I were talking and... hear me out... what if GO stand for Generation One?" the online tech portal asked.
The gaming website followed up with the question: "...but could there have been a secret meaning hidden in the game's title all along?"
PokéJungle's believes that its "theory" on "Pokémon GO," whose release date is still under wraps, could actually make sense,
First, because the game's latest online media only features characters from the original "Pokémon Red" and Pokémon Blue" versions.
And second, even the "Pokémon GO" Super Bowl ad doesn't give any update on the new generation of pocket monsters which could be included in the game except for Lucario.
But PokéJungle hopes that the augmented-reality (AR) game will not be limited to the franchise's first 151 characters, as the next-gen "Pokémon" would also make great DLC packs.
The tech site's followers have also chimed in, as they gave their own ideas on the possible meaning of "GO" in the game's title.
"I think "GO" is used in the context of 'Stop being a lazy ass hoe playing videogames all day wasting your life away and GO do something outside,'" wrote Chicolumbia.
"I'm quite sure "GO" means to go outside and stop being a bum indoors to be blatantly blunt," Afarr commented.
According to an update from NeuroGadget, "Pokémon GO" will be the first AR title to be released by Nintendo this year.
The game's roll out is also a highly-anticipated event in the mobile gaming community, as it will be playable on select iOS and Android devices.
Gaming industry consultant Dr, Serkan Toto noted that the recent moves of "Pokémon GO" developer Niantic "could open the door for more titles to receive the special real-world treatment."
"In a quote, John Hanke (CEO of Niantic proper) says the [AR] platform is a new business he wants to see developing quicker through his company's Japan operations," Toto said in his Kanten Games blog.
Fans will just have to stay tuned to the latest "Pokémon GO" update, as developers decide on the game's final release date.
