PSN Down: Sony Won't Acknowledge Outage? Players Report Core Services Inaccessible
Players took to social media to report that PSN was down for a while. According to Express UK , some players from the UK and North America can't access the core services of PSN, but Sony didn't list an outage on its support page.

Even more players report various issues they were facing. However, Sony claimed on Twitter that there was no problem on their end.
Venture Beat said that while the alleged PSN down time occurred, it prevented players from logging in to online services.
"This is causing players to encounter errors when they go to boot up online multiplayer games like Call of Duty: Black Ops III or Destiny. It is also causing problems for primarily single-player games that rely on a third-party server connection, like Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," Venture Beat wrote.
As of this writing, Sony hasn't released a statement yet pertaining to the issue.
If confirmed that PSN was down again, this will be the third outage of the said Sony service since the holidays last year following widespread outage of almost 11 hours this month.
Whilst Phantom Squad already declared it as a DDOS attack, Sony said that its system is "under maintenance" renouncing the hacking group's claims. The company, however, did not explain the sudden interruption of the services.
"We are aware that some gamers are not able to sign in to the PlayStation Network as the server is undergoing maintenance, we are currently working hard to have the servers up and running again," a customer service representative wrote, as cited by Express UK.
"We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience. We kindly advise you to try to connect again later on today. Thank you for understanding."
After the service went down, Sony announced that PS Plus, PSN, and other related services' subscription will be extended for a day to make up the lost hours of players affected by the network problem, Destructoid reported.
