TikTok star turned chart-topper teams up with K-pop sensation for cross-genre single

American singer-songwriter Alex Warren has confirmed his collaboration with BLACKPINK's Rosé on "On My Mind," marking an unexpected fusion between the folk-pop artist and the global K-pop star. The single is set for release on June 26.

Warren initially teased fans on TikTok with "I promise you won't guess who's featuring on this..." before Rosé briefly appeared in the frame, showing only part of her face. Fans could hear the BLACKPINK member's distinctive vocals blending with Warren's deeper tone in the preview.

Rosé playfully participated in the reveal, commenting "can somebody tell me who that is" on Warren's teaser post.

The collaboration comes as Warren enjoys massive success with his solo hit "Ordinary." Released on February 7, 2025, as the lead single from his upcoming album "You'll Be Alright, Kid," "Ordinary" topped the Billboard Hot 100. The song has maintained its No. 1 position on the UK Singles Chart for 11 consecutive weeks, setting a record for US male solo artists since 1955.

"On My Mind" will appear on Warren's debut studio album "You'll Be Alright, Kid," scheduled for July 18 release via Atlantic Records. The 21-track album expands on his 2024 EP "You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1)" by adding 10 new songs. The album also features "Bloodline," Warren's collaboration with Jelly Roll, which debuted at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rosé recently celebrated the six-month anniversary of her debut solo album "Rosie," which set records as the highest-charting album by a female K-pop artist in Billboard history following its December 2024 release. The album includes the global hit "APT." featuring Bruno Mars, plus singles "Number One Girl" and "Toxic Till the End".

This unexpected partnership between Warren's earnest folk-pop style and Rosé's refined vocal artistry represents the continuing evolution of genre boundaries in contemporary music, potentially introducing both artists to new audiences across different musical communities.
