'Scandal' Mid Season Premiere 2016: Series To Focus On Jake Ballard's Story And Secrets?
"Scandal" fans can't wait for the political thriller's mid-season premiere this 2016.
A number of cliff hangers from the mid-season finale last fall have definitely got fans thirsting for more.
The last episode of "Scandal" showed Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn) having a fight that ended their relationship. Apparently, even if it seems that they finally got their dream of coming out as a couple, Olivia isn't happy assuming the role of a First Lady, much less being a mother to the President's child.
The fall finale also showed Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) making peace with Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) after learning that Olivia's father isn't the one responsible for the mysterious B613 operations called Lazarus 1. Rowan invited Jake to his home, saying "Welcome home son."
With Jake Ballard's plot being one of the cliff hangers of the last episode, there are speculations that the 2016 premiere of "Scandal" could reveal more about his storyline.
The latest trailer for the show's mid-season premiere further strengthened the theories that fans will be seeing more of Scott Foley's character this 2016.
"A new promo was just released for Kerry's hit show Scandal - and it's super steamy!" Just Jared wrote. "The short teaser shows Jake (Scott Foley) telling Olivia that he doesn't want to wait for her, and she says 'then don't.' Then they make out."
It was only earlier this season that it was revealed that Jake Ballard has a wife - Elise, who was killed before the mid-season break.
Jake Ballard's marriage was a shock not only to fans, but also for the actor playing the role of the former B-613 command.
"...There's something interesting happening with Jake and his wife, how strange!" Scott Foley previously told Variety.
"I didn't know [about her], I had no idea! And I found out that 'Jake's' not his real name, which is sort of interesting! So I think there's more to come on that front," Scott Foley said about his character in "Scandal."
"Scandal" mid-season premieres February 11, 2016.
