'Pride And Prejudice And Zombies' Movie Reviews Released? Film To Closely Follow The Original Book?
"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is one the most anticipated movies of the year and while the film is yet to be released, there are rumors that the initial reviews are already out.
The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel with the same title. The 2009 novel written by Seth Grahame-smith is a combination of Jane Austen's 1813 Classic 'Pride and Prejudice' and the elements of modern Zombie fiction.
The book's popularity caught the attention of producers and it was then decided to be turned into a film. Cast members include Lily James, Bella Heathcote, Matt Smith, Douglas Booth and Sam Riley.
The plot follows Jane Austen's original novel, but has a twist of having zombies. The story goes around the five Bennett sisters who curb stomp zombies' heads as they practice being well-mannered at the same time.
According to fans, most of the favourite parts of the classic 'Pride and Prejudice' still remain. But the zombie outbreak falls upon the land of the tangled relationships between the lovers of different social classes.
One of the reviews pointed out the characterization in the film. "Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper-class prejudice," Bonnie Laufer Krebs of Examiner wrote.
"As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all," she added.
Moreso, cast members have also released their own statements about the film.
"It's a romance drama but then throw into that anytime you're maybe getting a bit bored a big zombie attack," according to Bella Heathcoate who plays Jane Bennett's role, as quoted by The Daily Campus.
"So it really just makes it a very sort of exciting romp and quite scary and funny," she added.
