Travis Barker Reveals Blink-182 Wrote An Entire New Album 'Trashed' It

Pop-punk group Blink-182 is gearing for the release of their seventh studio album. According to the latest news, their much-awaited follow-up to 2011's "Neighborhoods" is set to be released this summer.

Drummer Travis Barker sat down with Upset Magazine and confirmed that the album is "coming together."

"I'm excited... We have 15-20 songs right now," Barker revealed. "It's awesome because we're all actually in the studio, where we couldn't get that with the old line-up. It was impossible to get all three of us in the same studio... I think with a band you can't just phone it in. You gotta be there. For that great chemistry and for everyone to really vibe you gotta all be in the same room."

The new album also marks the group's first effort since they parted ways with guitarist and co-frontman Tom Delonge last year. Barker says that Delonge's replacement Matt Skiba has been "great."

"Just having someone like Matt [Skiba, new member] who's in the studio everyday is great," he explained. "You got to show up, that's the first part... It's a new chapter and we're not striving for mediocrity, we're looking to kill it. We're gonna make a great album."

Barker also provided some news about the album's release date.

"I think summertime," Barker said when asked about a possible release date. "There's tentatively some plans to play shows during summer. Everything will come together and be revealed in due time. It's gonna be great."

News of another Blink-182 album surfaced last year, but was delayed when Tom Delonge allegedly refused to record material with the group. Delonge was eventually axed and the remaining members brought Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba to replace him. The two camps noted that they were working towards a "friendly divorce."

Stay tuned for more "Blink-182" news as updates become available.
