'Ray Donovan' Season 4 Set In New York City? Fans Await Premiere Date

As fans await the premiere of "Ray Donovan" season 4, various theories are brewing online over the setting of the next installment of the crime drama.

Episode director, writer and showrunner, David Hollander previously revealed that Ray Donovan, played by Liev Schreiber, will be exloring "another large city" in season 4.

"Season four is going to look closely at Ray's option or desire to go further with facing his own past, but that desire is going to lead him into a new form of relationship, a relationship that is going to open up his life personally and professionally in yet another large city," Hollander told The Hollywood Reporter.

"We're really excited about where we're going in season four, it's going to be an emotional, but big and loud and brassy and visually fun year," Hollander added. "With Los Angeles and another city becoming enforcer frames at the same time."

Though Hollander was careful not to disclose the other city to be featured in "Ray Donovan" season 4 premiere, he named one city not on the list of possible settings.

"It's not going to be Boston," Hollander said months ahead of the season 4 premiere. "L.A. is our home and L.A. is the second part of our home that we live and breathe through celebrity and wealth culture."

"We are going to be drawn to places that have the kind of audacity that Los Angeles has and kind of suburbanize that other place as almost an offshoot of Los Angeles," Hollander added.

With Boston off the list, is there a chance that the other city could be Las Vegas were Mickey, played by Jon Voight, was driving to?

Or is there a possibility that the setting of "Ray Donovan" season 4 would be New York, where Liev Schreiber actually lives?

In 2013, Liev Schreiber opened up to Vanity Fair how much he misses his home city when filming "Ray Donovan."

"Home is New York," Liev Schreiber said. "I've got nothing against L.A. ... Just that, given my schedule, things can get a little isolated and a little lonely at times. Which was kind of appropriate for the character, I guess."

"Ray Donovan" season 4 will premiere in summer this year.
