Google Holds Press Event Announcing New Products

The Huawei-manufactured 2016 Google Nexus 6P has been unveiled and tech geeks have been publishing reviews left and right.

The unit is the successor to the Nexus 5 with some of the main upgraded features the owners of the old unit were expecting.

As far as its features are concerned, the new device is made up CNC-machined aluminium-built frame, weighs around 20 grams and having a 5.7-inch screen AMOLED display protected by Gorilla glass 4 that is fitted well into the aluminium frame.

Moreso, there's a resolution of Quad HD 2560 X 1440. The device is also being powered by snapdragon 810 V 2.1 octa-core processor. It has Adreno 430 graphics, 3 GB of RAM and operates using Android 6.0 Marshmallow with new power features-app standby and Doze.

The Google Nexus 6P reviews have also revealed that the unit is equipped with a fingerprint scanner called nexus Imprint. There are front and stereo speakers and three mics that give excellent sound quality.

Connectivity features include dual band 2X2 MIMO 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 4.2, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, ambient light sensor, NFC, GPS and LTE. It also has a 3450 mAh battery and a non-expandable storage.

Some tech critics have also voiced out their admiration for the product.

"Originally, Nexus phones stood out for being excellent value at a price that was low, but not the lowest," Jim Martin of TechAdvisor said. "The 6P, though, is not only a flagship but is arguably the best Android phone to buy at the moment. The excellent screen, front-firing speakers, quick charging, great cameras, speedy performance and Android Marshmallow add up to make this a phone that's a pleasure to use."

"And yes, it's also cheaper than its rivals, so, the Nexus 6P is the one to buy," he added.

While a lot of tech enthusiasts have given the unit positive reviews, there are also a lot who think otherwise.

Tech Times has reported about the numerous complaints from users, there are some that says the 6P switches to landscape mode and makes it impossible to switch back to portrait mode.

Other users are also unable to send an SMS while they are on an incoming call. Some of them also complain about random locking of their phones during calls and another problem reported was that the calls were inaudible.

However, it is believed that the Android update itself could have been the cause behind these glitches.

There was one serious issue reported that the phone's screen itself was detaching from its frame.

Aside from the review, the price for the Google Nexus 6P has been searched by users. Currently, it is at £499 onwards.
