Wild Card Round - Seattle Seahawks v Minnesota Vikings

Football fans couldn't believe how Minnesota Vikings' Blair Walsh missed his 27-yard kick that resulted in the team's elimination from the NFL playoffs.

As such, people could not help but wonder what were the thoughts running in Vikings'  Blair Walsh's head when he botched such a crucial kick, MMQB Sports Illustrated claimed.

"What happened was, I rushed it, and I didn't have to," Walsh said. "I didn't power through. It is inexplainable."

"The whole thing ... I rushed the process, and you never should do that on a kick. I watched it one time-on the tablet we get from the team. I watched it, and I saw what I did wrong. I rushed it."

"The hardest thing is knowing I let my team down. I get emotional when I think of that. That's my job, and I didn't do it. When we all came in on Monday, the day after the game, and I have to look at them, that's the toughest thing," he added.

However, there is one notable thing that fans were surprised with from the professional football player, Blair Walsh wasn't going to let the mishap dictate the rest of his career.

"A missed field goal is not going to define who I am-and it is not going to ruin my life," the renowned kicker said.

As such, a lot of his peers in the sport and those involved in the organization and industry were sympathetic to what Blair Walsh must have been going through after missing such a game-deciding kick for the Minnesota Vikings, ESPN Go reported.

"There's a saying in football that everyone on the team wants our job schedule Monday through Saturday, but nobody wants our job on Sundays," retired kicker Lawrence Tynes, who is well known in the sports as the only player able to make two overtime field goals to send his team to the Super Bowl, said.

"I was watching that game live, and after Blair missed that kick, I was walking around my house here like I missed it. My wife was like, 'Lawrence, c'mon. Really? It wasn't you that did that.' But I just empathized so much."
