Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Review: Is It Worth The Price?
With the release of Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium, the tech company made its strongest push yet for a larger share in the mobile market following the not-so-good unit drop last year. Although the Xperia Z5 lineup comes with some excellent hardware and best display ever seen on a smartphone, are those features going to be enough to justify the high price tag of Sony's flagship models? Check the reviews below.
Last year was the debut of Sony's Xperia Z5 lineup, which includes Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium. Sony launched the current flagship devices in UK, following a subsequent launching date for the rest of the world.
As previously reported by Inquirer, Xperia Z5 Compact priced at £429 and the Xperia Z5 at £549 was made available to the UK market in October 2015. While Xperia Z5 premium, the most expensive among the Z5 lineup priced at £629, was launched a month after.
PC Advisor stated that Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium bear a microSD card slot expandable to 200 GB. Thus, this improved feature will coincide with Sony, being a world leader in music devices, for bigger multimedia consumption.
According to many critics, the most exciting feature the Xperia Z5 series has to offer is the Z5's PlayStation connectivity. This will enable the user to remotely play games on PS4 from their hand-held Xperia Z5.
After all the features has been thoroughly examined, Gazette Review said that fifth generation of Sony Xperia is all worth it, "The Xperia Z5's only real flaw is the high price tag, which is currently at $559 Unlocked for T-mobile or AT&T or any number of MVNOs. While you won't be able to buy it in any stores, it is available through most popular online retailers."
"Without a contract or the discounts that carriers provide, you do end up shelling out the full amount for the device. That said, it's well worth it for the price. It may be a few hundred more than an iPhone or S series, but the decidedly premium feel and features of the Z5 make up for it."
Although the year 2015 has been quite uneventful for Sony after Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium sales went off, the company is looking forward to possibly catch things up in 2016.
