Pia Wurtzbach's homecoming parade and press conference gave the current Miss Universe a chance to speak up about her bashers.

Philippine Star reported about a press conference that took place before Pia Wurtzbach's grand homecoming parade in Manila, where the 26-year-old said she hopes that doubters will eventually change their minds about her.

"I'll shake your hand, I'll introduce myself and hopeful we can have a fresh start," the beauty queen said when asked about what she would tell her haters if she meets them face to face.

"I may not understand why you felt that way with me in the beginning... People have their reasons why, but hopefully I'll be able to change their mind when I meet them in person."

Prior to Pia Wurtzbach's homecoming parade, she also made a stand against bullying when she defended Miss Australia Monika Radulovic.

According to a report from Manila Bulletin, the Miss Universe runner-up said in a radio interview that Pia Wurtzbach was among the pageant candidates who were "not nice," along with Miss USA Olivia Jordan and Miss Colombia Arianda Gutierrez.

Hardcore pageant fans went to social media to slam the allegations made by Miss Australia. However, Pia Wurtzbach herself put an end to the online feud by pleading with her fans to not bash her fellow finalist.

"Please stop attacking Monika in her social media, or anybody for that matter," she tweeted last week. "No to cyber bullying."

Monika Radulovic quickly apologized for her statements through an Instagram post. "[I] didn't meant they weren't nice girls, just that they were very focused on what they were doing," she explained.

"I just didn't get a chance to get to know them as much as you would have liked, and that is all that that I meant by it."

"I'm truly sorry if I've offended or upset anyone, that is the last thing I'd ever want to do. I will choose my words much more carefully from now on," she added.
