Jeremy Clarkson Assures Fans He's Still Relevant Amid Gender Identity Slur? Denies New Show's Release Is Limited
Aside from his "Top Gear" departure and new show in Amazon, Jeremy Clarkson has recently been attracting public attention over his views on gender identity.
"As far as I was concerned, men who want to be women were only really to be found on the internet or in the seedier bits of Bangkok," Clarkson reportedly wrote in the Sunday Times, as quoted by Mirror.
"They were called ladyboys, and in my mind they were nothing more than the punchline in a stag night anecdote," the former "Top Gear" presenter added.
Coincidentally, the slur came amid online buzz about Jeremy Clarkson's new Amazon show after his "Top Gear" exit.
I could be recalled that the presenter lost his spot in "Top Gear" after punching producer Oisin Tymon in an altercation over hot food a few weeks ago.
According to reports, Jeremy Clarkson's new show will purportedly have a limited release, disappointing fans outside the reported areas where the show will be offered.
"Jeremy Clarkson's new show could only be available in four countries at launch, according to a source at Amazon Prime - the US, the UK, Germany and Austria," The Week reported. "The news could mean that fans in other parts of the world may not immediately be able to see the show when it becomes available later this year."
Is the show's limited release related to the presenter's gender identity slur? It may be unlikely, especially since Clarkson denied rumors that his show will only be available in four countries.
"Some Clarkson fans have complained they will not be able to watch his new show, due to Amazon Prime Instant Video only being available in certain countries - a concern the presenter sought to play down with a single-word reply to one follower," the report continued.
"Two weeks ago, a fan tweeted Clarkson to express his disappointment that the programme would not be available to anyone outside the UK and US, to which the presenter simply wrote back: 'wrong.'"
Despite negating the fan's tweet, Jeremy Clarkson did not clarify the information about his new show.
Jeremy Clarkson's camp is yet to comment on the uproar over his gender identity views. The presenter is also yet to announce exact details about his new Amazon show.
