'Game of Thrones' Season 5: Blu-Ray Announced With 'Dance of Dragons' Bonus Content; Release Date Confirmed

"Game of Thrones" season 5 has just been made available on Blu-Ray and is set for release on March 15, as confirmed by HBO.

The fifth season of the hit fantasy television series, which has compiled a total of 12 Emmy awards and is currently a Guinness World Record holder for being held as the largest simultaneous broadcast in a TV drama, will finally be added to its viewers' DVD collection before the "Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere on April.

The complete episodes of "Game of Thrones" season 5 will be available on Blu-ray for $79.98 and on DVDs for $59.99 beginning March 15 from the HBO Home Entertainment.

Moreover, it was also announced that the Blu-ray set comes into view with a free HD copy of all 10 episodes plus an exclusive bonus content of the behind story and a full-look of the season's ninth episode titled "Dance of Dragons."

The "Dance of Dragons" in season 5 tells a story about the Greens and the Blacks, a Targaryen civil war which pushed the dragons to its unfortunate downfall with an unexpected narration from the series' well-embraced characters from the previous "Game of Thrones" seasons.

Reports claimed that the new "Game of Thrones" Blu-ray set also comes with an In-episode guide that would give fans the chance to know more about the on-screen characters, film locations and the stories' relevant histories - including the olden times and tradition of the mythology of Westeros and Essos.

Aside from the bonus content and a free look on the season's four deleted scenes, fans will also be able to hear 12 audio commentaries from the cast - including Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, David Benioff, Iain Glen, Natalie Dormer, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey.

"Game of Thrones" season 5 was ordered by HBO in April 2014 and was aired in mid April until June of 2015. The sixth season will debut in late April this year, just one month following the release of the new Blu-ray and DVD copies.
