Motorola's Moto G Android 6.0 Or Marshmallow Update Impossible To Downgrade? Details Released!

Motorola Has announced a new software update for Moto G (2nd Generation) smartphones that brings Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon.

Motorola devices have been getting android updates over time and the recent announcement is that they're planning to provide Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to all its Moto G 2nd gen smartphones soon after it has passed its soak test. However, the android update would be initially rolled out for users from Brazil and India.

"We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto G (2nd Gen.) by Motorola. This update brings AndroidTM 6.0 Marshmallow to your phone along with other improvements", cited Motorola's support site.

"I'm pleased to announce that we are starting the soak test for Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) for Brazil and India retail channels devices. We will monitor the soak for next week and with good results, proceed to full launch", read David Shuster's Google Plus status update.

Android 6.0 upgrade aims at improving mobile experience by providing battery-smart features and permissions for new apps that offers more control to the users.

Upon installing the new software, changes that you are likely to notice would include App standby, New permission model that provides Control over the content you share via your apps, App links- that lets you choose what you want to see upon tapping on apps.

It also offers expandable storage options that enable your memory card to completely extend device's internal storage.

There's a Do Not Disturb Mode through which you can configure interruptions by just tapping on the button.

Volume control configurations that provide a cleaner and intuitive way to adjust media, ringtone and alarm volume.

There's a "Now on Tap" that provides Google Now results right in the app that is currently in use.

Direct Share feature lets you share content directly to a contact or conversation within an app.

In addition to these, there are Moto Assist, Moto Migrate and Moto Alert applications

Moto G 2nd gen users will be alerted when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is ready to install on their devices. However, it is important to know that downgrade to previous version of Android is not possible after this installation.
