Leonardo DiCaprio To Finally Get An Oscars This 2016? Kate Winslet Makes Bold Prediction
Kate Winslet believes that this 2016 is finally the year when Leonardo DiCaprio is going to win an Oscars.
"I think you can sort of feel it and I think that everyone wants it for him. It's probably going to be Leo's year," she said, per Daily Mail.
"It's also slightly difficult for me too because Michael Fassbender has been nominated and of course I was his right-hand woman for three months whilst we were making Steve Jobs," she added.
Aside from the Oscars 2016, Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for Best Actor for "The Aviator" (2005), "Blood Diamond" (2007) and "The Wolf of Wall Street" in 2014.
"I saw how hard he worked and I think his performance is so extraordinary," she said.
Leonardo DiCaprio, for his part, believed that he should have had an Oscars by now.
Talking to Andrew Marr for BBC he said, "The truth of the matter is that I've been in situations before where I've thought films or performances, either mine or others, should be either nominated more or adored by the public, or critics should revere it more. But it's beyond your control."
He then referenced his role as Hugh Glass in the new film "Revenant" for which he was nominated for an Oscars Best Actor yet again.
"Knowing that I did a movie that took this much of my life, that we devoted this much to as far as focus is concerned, we gave it everything we possibly could," he said. "To sit here looking at receiving that many nominations for this film, it not only feels good but it also feels like people have a yearning to see a different type of film."
"Revenant" received 12 nominations from the award-giving body.
But whether Leonardo DiCaprio will win the Oscars this 2016, it would be marred by controversy surrounding the nominations as celebrities slammed the organization for the lack of diversity thereof.
