'Ash Vs. Evil Dead' Trailer Leaked As Release Date Announced!
Has evil found you yet?
American premium cable channel and television network Starz just released the official trailer for their upcoming horror comedy series titled Ash vs. Evil Dead through their official YouTube channel. The show stars Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, Dana Delorenzo, Lucy Lawless and Bruce Campbell as the titular character.
Following the original Sam Raimi movie franchise, Ash vs. Evil Dead is confirmed to be a sequel to films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.
The TV show follows the story of Ash Williams, who is now portrayed as an aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who seems to have wasted the last 30 years of his life avoiding responsibility and the terrors that rise from the Evil Dead. Suddenly, a Deadite plague threatens to kill everyone and Ash is now forced to face his fears.
Actor Bruce Campbell says that Ash is like your next-door neighbor who is unaware of what's happening around him. He has no special skills to brag about and neither is interested in saving mankind, Movie Web reports. He is teamed up with new characters named Pablo (played by Ray Santiago) and Kelly (played by Dana Delorenzo), and they all desire to get rid of evil in this world, one creature at a time.
The development of Ash vs. Evil Dead began in 2014, announcing the news at San Diego Comic-Con with Campbell to reprise the titular character. Bloody Disgusting also reported the confirmation of the series' development at Ohio Comic-Con in the same year.
The first episode was directed by series creator Sam Raimi. Ash vs. Evil Dead is originally slated for 10 episodes with duration of 30 minutes each as ordered by Starz. The series will premiere in October 31 - just in time for Halloween celebrations.
