Twitter Down Today? Website And Mobile App Crashes Multiple Times As Users Complain

Social Media Site Twitter Debuts On The New York Stock Exchange

Twitter's network went down for an hour on Tuesday morning with users continuously reporting intermittent outages until early afternoon. Now users are worried that the same thing might happen today as well.

As the public noticed, network issues and the outage began at 8.20 AM GMT and affected both the web version as well as the mobile app version.

The site reported that it was due to "over capacity" and its APIs, the code that allowed other services to connect to it, suffered from an "internal error". This problem made some users unable to log in, while those could login weren't able to tweet or view images.

The site's service blog that gives alerts about outages to its users was, however, available during this issue. With engineers confirming the social network was "experiencing problems".

The update on the blog stated "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution", as lifted from WIRED.

There wasn't any time mentioned as to when the services from down network of Twitter would be resumed and there were still some users who experienced issues at 12:10 PM GMT. Now users are worried that it might occur anytime again, especially today.

Unlike the first outage, the site was not at all accessible. It only loaded a blank page. The first time, it showed a little robot and a message that something was "technically wrong". That time its @Support account tweeted that  they were aware of the issue and that they were working on solving it.

The company's official status page was updated to reflect the first outage. The site did not announce then that the problem had been solved and so it is likely that the next outage was linked to the first one, cited INDEPENDENT.

Meanwhile, amongst twitter users who normally tweeted 6,000 times per second, they managed to cope up with the outage and somehow the highly trending hashtag on their website became #twitterdown. Today, the users seem to be vigilant about posting on the site still.
