Microsoft Lumia 650 Release Date Set At MWC 2016? Is It The Last Model Under The Series?

The release date for Microsoft Lumia 650 is reportedly set for early February 2016. Moreso, it is allegedly the only Lumia smartphone that is queued for this year.
According to Windows Central, the phone would be the latest addition to Microsoft's mid-range phones with a 5 inch HD Display and a low power snapdragon processor. It is also expected that the Lumia line-up might come to an end after this.
Despite many rumors about Lumia 750 and 850, the source cited above also reported that the company has cancelled those in an effort to focus on the "Panos Phone," otherwise known as the Surface Phone.
To support the rumor, one of the company's executive has allegedly said that the Windows mobile needed something transformative like what the surface was for laptops.
According to WMPU, the long rumoured Lumia 650 will be the last Lumia device. Unlike the 640 series, there will not be any press conference or events held for the unit. Rather, microsoft will release the device's details in its official blog, the date of which is left unknown.
In other news, the specs for the upcoming smartphone is reported to be available in the colors matte white or matte black. It will allegedly run on Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 (or 212), with a 5-inch 720p display, 2000 mAh battery, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage with micro SD expansion, 8 megapixel camera, 5 MP selfie camera, LTE and Front-facing speaker.
As to the pricing, rumors have it that the unit will be introduced at the price of $200.
Regardless if whether the rumors are true about the Microsoft Lumia 650, the release date is still believed by fans to be announced during the upcoming MWC 2016.
