Sean Bean Teases Zombie 'Game Of Thrones' Appearance Ahead Of Season 6 Premiere
With his head cut off back in season 1, there's no way Sean Bean will reprise her role as Ned Stark in "Game of Thrones" as the season 6 premiere date draws near. Or is there?
"There's been talk of Ned Stark coming back," he told Larry King. "But I don't know how he could come back, maybe as a zombie."
But he could come back in the prequel to the events of the "Game of Thrones," right?
"Flashbacks, yeah. Have a shave, make myself look a bit younger," he added.
Previously, HBO president Michael Lombardo claimed that they are open to doing prequels when the "Game of Thrones" finishes in probably eight seasons. Premiere date for season 6 of the series is set on April this year.
"I would be open to anything that Dan and David wanted to do - about Game of Thrones, or any subject matter," Lombardo told Entertainment Weekly. "It really would depend fully on what they wanted to do. I think you're right, there's enormous storytelling to be mined in a prequel, if George and Dan and David decide they want to tackle that."
"At this point, all the focus is on the next few years of the show. We haven't had any conversations about that at this point."
While Sean Bean won't be appearing in "Game of Thrones" season 6, different versions of Ned Stark will help move along the story.
"Sebastian Croft is 13 and will be playing Ned as a young swordsman. The initial casting description indicates that he'll be practicing swordsmanship with an older boy during the scene," Cinema Blend said.
It added, "This won't be the first time that Game of Thrones will be incorporating flashbacks. In fact, the drama kicked off with a pretty atmospheric scene at the beginning of Season 5, during which a young Cersei met Maggie the Frog and learned about her future fate from the fortune-teller."
"Game of Thrones" season 6 will premiere on April 24, 2016.
