A non-governmental peace organization registered under the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18 World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Summit that was held in the main auditorium of Yongin Elysian Learning Center in South Korea.

Zimeye reported Sept. 19 that the event will serve as a "platform for world leaders from all sectors of society to discuss the progress on two major works of HWPL [Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration Of Light]."

The major projects include "the Implementation of an International Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace and the establishment of the World Alliance of Religions' Peace Offices."

The International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) organized summit.

"First of all, we have to carefully examine what is behind the scenes of armed conflicts," said HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee, during a press conference the day before the event. "In order to stop wars, a rigid system is needed to bring forth a practical solution for peace."

"That solution is the international convention on the cessation of war and achievement of world peace. The purpose of HWPL is to bring about the cessation of war and establish peace as an inheritance for future generations."

Chairman Lee continued, "Certainly, world peace will be achieved if all reporters are accountable for accurate reporting standards and continually report on peace."

The summit is the a result of a joint collaboration between international law experts coming from different countries, which started "the signing of the Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace at the 2014 WARP Summit."

"We have greeted a new era and everyone here are the leading characters in opening the new era," says Chairman Lee during the first day of the two-day event, as noted by MEHR news agency on September 21.

IWPG Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim added that "the 1st Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit is the platform provided for the implementation of the international convention which is the core business of HWPL."

Former member of the UN International Law Commission Dr. Fathi Kemicha said the "Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts" would result to "a more peaceful and prosperous world."

More than 300 people attended the 2-day summit. Among the attendees are international law experts as well as leaders of political, youth, women, and religious groups from all over the world. Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) head Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim also participated on the said event.
