‘NCIS’ Season 13: Cote De Pablo, Michael Weatherly Reunion Never Happening?
After Michael Weatherly announced that he's quitting "NCIS" season 13, could the writers plan a swan song episode where DiNozzo is reunited with the love of his life, the character played by Cote de Pablo?
Sorry fans, TVLine has reported that there are no plans to bring back Cote de Pablo a.k.a. Ziva David one last time to provide closure to DiNozzo, even just a send-off episode in light of Michael Weatherly exiting "NCIS" after season 13.
"They are working on how Michael's character is going to be written out. [Showrunner] Gary [Glasberg] and the producers are working on that right now," CBS entertainment president Glenn Geller told TVLine.
"I will definitely miss - as I'm sure the fans will, as well as my mother - Special Agent Tony DiNozzo. [Weatherly's] decision was his. It was a creative one. He had been in the role for 13 years, and I completely understand it, and I wish him well," he said.
In a previous interview with TVLine, Cote de Pablo believed that the storyline between DiNozzo and Ziva David in "NCIS" was a bit rushed.
"I would have liked a little bit of closure," she said. "But I think all in all I could not be more blessed, because I got a chance to be with my 'love,' Michael [Weatherly, who plays Tony]. Any time you put Michael and I together there's going to be a spark, and there's going to be real honesty, and for that I am forever grateful. Because in that sense there was a sense of conclusion as far as what [the characters] felt for each other."
Michael Weatherly announced that he's leaving "NCIS" after season 13 following his DUI arrest, said PageSix.
"DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn't have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons," he wrote. "I will miss the amazing crew & cast, who are like family to me, & to the fans all over the world - THANK YOU, it's been a fantastic ride!"
