Amazon Holds News Conference

Amazon Prime Now offers 20 percent discount for its users on purchase of new video games via its app.

The company is making it cheaper for their users with prime membership around the world to play the latest video games available. As a part of this new offer, they are to give a 20 percent discount on all new video game releases.

They have been constantly expanding the list of offers that you get with a $99 prime membership like two-day shipping, a ibrary of music and movies to stream, borrow Kindle books and now, this discount.

This deal covers any physical game (i.e. no digital downloads) and is available from the time the game is available for pre-orders until two weeks after the launch, cited TheVerge.

Although the Amazon prime now app deal does not cover games that are already under discount of more than 20 percent or those games bundled with a console. The Console games is a market that still exists largely on discs, shipped out in little plastic cases. If you own a PS4 or Xbox One, this deal is clearly a boon. Amazon's disclaimer on this: "The offer does not apply to product bundles including but not limited to console game bundles."

The biggest draw according to PCWorld, is that the 20 percent discount also applies to Collector's edition like the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy edition. Given how many of you are really fond of ordering such games and their inflated cost, this discount starts off sounding pretty good.

The company has announced that the savings are applied automatically at checkout, so you might not really see the discount initially. This Offer is similar to that of Best Buy's Gamers Club that also offers 20 percent discount on new game releases, though, of course Amazon Prime Now App offers a lot more than just discounts/deals on video games.
