Nintendo Direct To Launch Pokémon-Themed 3DS For 20th Anniversary

There so much to look forward to next month for Pokémon fans! Come February, the game will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. The games that brought the Pokémon phenomena worldwide, Pokémon Blue and Red, were originally released in 1996 for the Game Boy portable system. Now, Nintendo Direct. announced that it will be making a commemorative new 3DS system with Charizard and Blastoise swappable cover plates.
According to Pop Sci, Nintendo initially announced its plans for the upcoming Pokemon 3DS bundle during the latest Nintendo Direct event.
We already known that the remakes of the games will be coming for a few months, but this would be the first time we heard the special edition bundles that completely trounce the Animal Crossing New Nintendo 3DS that the US was given last year. Along with the franchise's most iconic characters, Charizard and Blastoise, the system comes with Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow pre-installed, as well as a special menu theme.
Along with the new 3DS bundle, fans of the 2DS can look forward to hardware themes belonging to each version: Red, Blue and even Pokémon Yellow. Fans can also look forward to a Super Bowl ad during the month of Pokémon festivities.
Tech Radar reported that Nintendo and developer Game Freak have included modern features for the 3DS system like installing a link cable for local Wi-Fi trading and battling.
Nintendo's plan for their upcoming anniversary doesn't stop there. The company is using the fame of their very own Pokémon franchise to enter new dimensions and hinted an upcoming reality game, Pokémon Go. This augmented game lets players try and catch pocket monsters in a supposed virtual world aided with accessory.
The announcement of 3DS system and the remake of the games by Nintendo Direct are in celebration of Pokémon's 20th anniversary since it was originally launched in Japan.
