Amidst Doubts, Fears, & Anxiety, Why Jay B Never Wanted To Be GOT7’s Leader

On the 11th of May, the 5th Episode of Jay B's video collection for DIVE Studio's health and wellness app, "Mindset," was dropped. Entitled "The Weight of Leading GOT7," the K-Pop star revealed his true thoughts on being the leader of GOT7.

GOT7's Jay B started off the episode by admitting that he never wanted to be the leader of GOT7. The K-Pop star even asked JYP Entertainment to not appoint him to the role. 

Specifically, the GOT7 leader noted that the reason why he does not fit the position is that he is not skilled in communication. Notably, Jay B was previously just a dancer specializing in B-boying, having no leadership experience whatsoever.

Another reason why GOT7's Jay B did not want to be the leader of GOT7 is that leadership obviously comes with responsibilities. Due to this, the idol believed that he was too young at the time of GOT7's debut (Jay B was only 20 years of age).

But even though Jay B initially did not want to be GOT7's leader, he eventually led the group to glory. Furthermore, he proved why he was the perfect fit. Though Jay B noted that he had more responsibilities after the members decided to part ways with JYP Entertainment.

Regardless of his worries about becoming GOT7's leader, Jay B proved his prowess of being one of the best leaders in K-Pop. The GOT7 idol has gone on to learn more about the legal side of K-Pop as he wants to claim GOT7's trademarks and copyrights properly.
