Amidst recent controversy, Starship Entertainment has released an apology and an announcement that they will be changing IVE's official greeting.

On the 1st of December, IVE, the latest girl group under Starship Entertainment which consists of members Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo made their highly-anticipated K-pop debut with their amazing single "ELEVEN."

Not long after this, netizens and fans began pointing out that the hand gesture in IVE's official greeting was somewhat the same as that of Yuehua Entertainment's EVERGLOW.

"Hello.

This is Starship Entertainment.

We are making an announcement regarding the greeting of our artist IVE.

We failed to recognize the similarity between IVE's greeting and that of another group. Therefore, we plan to modify their greeting from now on.

We sincerely apologize for this matter. We will take care to prevent this kind of incident from reoccurring in the future."

Fans and netizens were relieved as Starship Entertainment was swift in addressing the issue regarding IVE and EVERGLOW. Notably, something as simple as a hand gesture might seem irrelevant but it is already a part of the identity of a K-pop group when they enter the industry.
