Mandatory military enlistment in South Korea has always been something Korean men have to undergo between the ages of 18 to 28 and it usually lasts for two years.

Thus, actors and artists in the K-pop or Korean entertainment industry always have to make use and manage their time well as enlistment is something that they have to plan for.

A Korean actor or K-pop idol in the height of their career has to make sure or try that their enlistment dates do not coincide with their prime.

This was recently evident as fans were initially worried after hearing rumors of actor Gong Myung enlisting in the military.

But recently, Saram Entertainment, which is Gong Myung's agency, has officially addressed the reports regarding the actor's plans for military enlistment.

On the 5th of November, Korean news outlets went on to report that Gong Myung was currently gearing up to enlist in the military as a public service worker.

The report also noted that Gong Myung had adjusted the date of his enlistment so that he could wrap up filming for "Lovers of the Red Sky," his most recent drama.

On the same day, Saram Entertainment clarified that Gong Myung has not yet gotten his draft notice and therefore had no final plans regarding his enlistment.

An insider from Saram Entertainment explained, "Actor Gong Myung is in a position where he has not yet received his draft notice. At the moment, nothing has been decided in regards to his military enlistment."

Fans' anxiety was quickly put at ease as Saram Entertainment confirmed that Gong Myung, now 27 years of age, is still not near to finalizing his plans for his military enlistment which means he might be taking on a couple more projects before leaving.
